Below are explanations of the procedures and services we offer at Dentistry of Indiana.

Veneers

Dental veneers are one of the most effective and aesthetically gratifying remedies for teeth that are chipped, stained, or even misaligned. Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of porcelain or plastic cemented over the front of your teeth to change their color or shape. Porcelain dental veneers can be an excellent way of addressing common problems with your teeth and, creating a beautiful new smile with results that look and feel natural.

Implants

Dental implants make it possible for people who have lost teeth due to decay, gum disease, injury, congenital defects, and other reasons to acquire permanent, natural-looking replacement teeth. Missing teeth can not only make many people self-conscious when smiling or talking, they can also affect chewing and speaking. Unlike bridges and dentures, dental implants provide a durable, long-lasting replacement for missing teeth. With dental implants, there is less risk of gum irritation and no slipping, as dental implants are custom-designed for each patient and are made to become permanent parts of the mouth.

Crowns and Bridges

Dentistry of Indiana typically uses All Ceramic Crowns to achieve the most esthetic and natural result as possible. Crowns are beautiful, natural looking porcelain restorations with a strong zirconia base that are recommended to help prevent further damage to your tooth following a root canal procedure or a large filling. The crown acts as a 'cap' that supports the underneath tooth structure and is permanently cemented in place. All Ceramic Crowns may be used for aesthetic reasons as well to align your teeth and give them a brighter appearance. Bridges are natural-looking dental restorations that can replace a single or multiple missing teeth. Because they are custom-made, bridges are barely noticeable and can restore the natural contour of teeth as well as the proper bite relationship between upper and lower teeth.

Teeth Whitening and Bleaching

Whitening procedures have effectively restored the smile of people with stained, dull, or discolored teeth. The inner layer of tooth structure can be discolored with age or the use of products such as soda, wine, caffeine and/or tobacco. We have seen great results with both of our in-office bleaching treatments and custom take home bleaching kits. Ask about our free bleaching referral program!

Root Canal Therapy

Many tooth problems involve infections that spread to tissues called the pulp or the 'nerve'. The pulp is the inner chamber of the tooth inside the root that contains blood vessels, nerves and other tissues that keep the tooth vital. A diseased inner tooth brings a host of problems. Pain and sensitivity are some of the first indications of a problem; however, a spreading infection within the pulp can cause small pockets of pus to develop, leading to an abscess. A traumatic injury to a tooth can also compromise the pulp, leading to similar problems. Root canal therapy is a remarkable treatment with a very high rate of success. From a patient's perspective, this procedure is very similar to having a filling done. It involves removing the diseased tissue, halting the spread of infection and restoring the tooth to a healthy state. A crown is typically recommended post root canal to help keep the tooth from fracturing and further damage.
